Mitchell Shire lockdown ends tonight

Lockdown restrictions will be lifted in the Mitchell Shire from 11.59pm tonight, 13 October 2021.

This means that dental practices can return to pre-lockdown settings with no restrictions on patient access to care. It is important to continue with COVIDSafe protocols to minimise the risk in your practice.

The Victorian Government has mandated COVID-19 vaccination for all health care workers. This means that all health care workers must have received the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine by 29 October 2021 and the second dose of a COVID-19 vaccine by 15 December 2021. The public health directive has been issued pursuant to section 200(1)(d) of the Public Health and Wellbeing Act 2008 (Vic).

If any dental staff member remains unvaccinated after 15 October and has a booking for the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine by 29 October, they are allowed to continue to work but must at a minimum wear a surgical mask and face shield at all times whilst on the premises (this includes shared spaces such as the tea room). If a dental staff member remains unvaccinated after 15 October and does not have a booking for the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine by 29 October, they are not permitted to remain on the premises for the purposes of work.

More information on the mandatory vaccination requirements and HR resources is available to ADAVB members here.
