Mat Pilates
Get fit and connect with colleagues! Join our weekly Tuesday mat Pilates classes at the ADAVB meeting rooms.
Classes are suitable for all ages, levels, and abilities. No prior physical exercise experience is required.
Tina Yong is a Pilates instructor with two decades of experience at DMA Clinical Pilates/Physio in South Yarra, and over 30 years as a professional contemporary and cross-cultural dancer and choreographer.
Tina ensures participants perform exercises correctly and encourages everyone to work at their own pace. Each session is unique, with no set exercises. Tina frequently integrates Qigong into her Pilates classes, adding a holistic dimension to the workout.
Classes will be offered on a weekly basis at the ADAVB meeting rooms
Day: Tuesday evenings, starting at 5.05pm (50-minute class)
Cost: $30 per class
Required for the class
Please wear comfortable clothing (t-shirt and leggings or a track suit). Mats are provided but you are welcome to bring your own. A liability waiver form needs to be signed and returned beforehand.

Experience
Pilates Instructor: With two decades of experience at DMA Clinical Pilates/Physio in South Yarra, Tina has honed her skills in providing therapeutic and fitness-based Pilates instruction.
Dance and Choreography: Over 30 years as a professional contemporary and cross-cultural dancer and choreographer, showcasing her versatility and dedication to the art.
Committee/Panel Membership: Served on the Australian Council for the Arts, contributing her expertise to developing the arts in Australia.
Facilitator: Led the Nexis Arts Dance Education Program in primary and secondary schools, fostering a love for dance in young students.
Awards: Recipient of various grants from the Victorian Government for ten consecutive years, including the Women’s Artist Grant recognising her outstanding contributions to the arts.
Performances: Participated in numerous productions, including the AIDA Opera at Princes Park in the 1990s.
Interests
Currently, Tina offers fitness classes in various Bayside gyms and teaches ballet and mat Pilates to a dedicated group of long-time students, some over 80 years old, at a dance studio in Prahran and Windsor Art Gallery. She passionately advocates for the philosophy that "movement = quality of life," encouraging people to live their best lives as they age.
