Under the Commonwealth Privacy Act 1988, all dental practices in Australia must comply with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), which regulate how personal information (including health information) is to be handled.

Sharon McMillan is a former economics and business management teacher, and has a Masters of Education Degree in Curriculum Development and a Diploma of Quality Auditing. She has worked as a Practice Manager for the past 18 years in an oral and maxillofacial surgery practice based on the Mornington Peninsula, where she is responsible for establishing the administrative processes, and for monitoring its growth and development. Sharon has assisted many ADAVB member practices become accredited, and regularly presents to members at workshops and dental group meetings.
In 1989, Dr Loula Konidaris obtained her BDSc from the University of Melbourne. She has now returned to the university to complete a Master of Health and Medical Law, which she applies to her recently acquired position of CRO/Professional Consultant at the ADAVB. Prior to this, she ran her own dental practice for ten years, and still practices dentistry part time.
