Associate Professor Khaled Ahmed
Associate Professor Khaled Ahmed is an Associate Professor of restorative dentistry and general practice at the University of Melbourne. He held various academic and leadership positions in Australia, Hong Kong, and the UK. He is also appointed by the Dental Council of New Zealand to provide bespoke educational programmes to its practitioners. With over 20 years of experience, he has published numerous peer-reviewed papers in leading journals with a clinical and research focus on digital dentistry and tooth wear
Dr Kunal Pandya
Dr Kunal Pandya completed his undergraduate dental training at the University of Queensland in 2002. He worked in general practice for four years, prior to commencing specialist Prosthodontic training at the University of Melbourne. As a specialist prosthodontist in Collins st Melbourne, Kunal has a focus on conservative & aesthetic dentistry and enjoys sharing this philosophy both in his involvement with CPD courses as well as teaching on the prosthodontic post graduate program at the University of Melbourne.
Associate Professor Michael Stubbs
Associate Professor is the academic lead at Latrobe University Dental School in oral pathology/oral medicine and runs the Melbourne Oral Medicine Centre in Southbank. He has presented at numerous national and international meetings on all areas of oral medicine including orofacial pain/TMD/dental sleep medicine and oral mucosal disease.
Dr Terry Wong
Dr Terry Wong has completed a science degree with honours at Melbourne University in 1981, then worked in medical research for two years before switching to dentistry at the University or Melbourne, graduating in 1987. His passion is restorative dentistry and he lectures both locally and Internationally on the topic of Composite Resin Techniques and has been conducting Hands on programs for the last 20 years. He still maintains a private practice in the suburb of Blackburn in Melbourne.
Dr Stephanie Shields
Dr Stephanie Shields is a specialist paediatric dentist in Melbourne. She completed her undergraduate dental degree at Griffith University in 2012 and then worked for nearly a decade in private practice, including six years in Darwin. She completed her Doctor of Clinical Dentistry in Paediatric Dentistry at the University of Melbourne in 2023. She is currently undertaking a PhD in molar incisor hypomineralisation at the University of Melbourne and the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute.
Professor Michael McCullough
Professor Michael McCullough is the Professor in Oral Medicine at the Melbourne Dental School, the University of Melbourne. The convener of the graduate course in Oral Medicine Melbourne Dental School since 2001, has published over 210 articles, was on the Expert Panel for the first and second editions of Therapeutic Guidelines, Oral and Dental, and Editor on the comprehensive textbook Contemporary Oral Medicine, and the Handbook on Dental Therapeutics. Michael is an Oral Medicine Clinical Consultant to the Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne and the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
Associate Professor Stephen Chen AM
Associate Professor Stephen Chen is a specialist periodontist in private practice in Balwyn. He graduated BDS (Malaya) in 1983, MDSc (Melbourne) in 1987, FRACDS in 1988 (KG Sutherland Prize) and completed his PhD in 2008. He holds the position of Clinical Associate Professor at The School of Dentistry, University of Melbourne. Dr Chen’s scientific interests are in the field of tissue regeneration and post-extraction implants, and has published over 30 papers, authored two textbooks and contributed chapters to six textbooks. He is past-president of the International Team for Implantology (ITI), Australian and New Zealand Academy of Periodontists (ANZAP) and Australasian Osseointegration Society (AOS). He is an honorary life member of the AOS.
Associate Professor Mahmoud Bakr
Associate Professor Bakr is the ex-Director of Clinical Education (Dentistry) and an Associate Professor in General Dental Practice at the School of Medicine and Dentistry – Griffith University. He received his Bachelor Degree in Dental Medicine and Surgery from Cairo University in 2004 and completed his Master Degree in 2010. In 2012, Associate Professor Bakr was appointed as a full-time lecturer in General Dental Practice with a special interest in teaching oral biology and head and neck anatomy. In 2014, Associate Professor Bakr completed a Graduate Certificate in higher education in 2014 and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in 2019. Currently, Associate Professor Bakr is an accredited examiner for the Australian Dental Council examination for overseas trained dentists and an approved member of the hearing panel for AHPRA notifications. Besides his teaching commitments, Mahmoud remains to be a clinician and undergoes private dental practice within Griffith University Dental Clinics. He has also published over 50 peer reviewed journal articles in different fields including the effect of botulinum toxin on different oral tissues.
Dr Jack Milgate
Dr Jack Milgate graduated from Latrobe University in Victoria, Australia. He spent two years working and completing his masters program in public dental health clinics throughout regional Victoria. Originally from Echuca-Moama, Jack spent 9 years working in Melbourne prior to opening his private practice in Barwon Heads, Victoria. Dr Milgate is passionate about modern, minimally invasive dentistry and believes no two treatments or patients are the same; and offers all options to achieve the ideal results and perfect smile for his patients. Dr Milgate is approaching 10 years as an Invisalign provider and has been lecturing and training practitioners both in Australia and internationally on the Invisalign system. He also lectures and demonstrates his techniques and procedures using his iTero intra oral scanner and has provided case studies and advice regarding this modern treatment modality to companies and dentists from around the world.
Dr Hanlie Engelbrecht
Dr Engelbrecht is a specialist oral surgeon, having trained in South Africa. She has been in Melbourne for 11 years, where she is the senior oral surgeon at Sir Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, a consultant at the Royal Dental Hospital Melbourne and in private practice at Hawthorn Specialist Clinic.
Dr Anikó Ball
After suffering occupational chronic pain for decades, Dr Anikó Ball trained to recognise and change harmful work postures. She founded optimum dental posture to reduce suffering in the profession. Trained in mind-body calming techniques and inner rrgonomics, Dr Ball conducts ‘Ergonomics & Wellness in Dentistry’ workshops and courses, ‘In-house Ergonomic Training’ as well as ‘Stress Management in the Clinic’ for the whole dental team. Dr Ball has been a presenter at ADA and NZDA Congress/conference events and CPD courses.
Dr Ahmed El-Hadidi
Dr El-Hadidi completed his specialty degree in periodontics from the University of Melbourne following his 15 years of practice as a general dentist. He graduated from Cairo and moved to Australia in 2010. Ahmed is a member of ADA, AOS, ASP, and ITI organisations, which helps to continuously update his professional knowledge.
Dr Felicity Crombie
Dr Crombie is a senior lecturer at the Melbourne Dental School and a general practice dentist with over 20 years’ experience in the public and private sectors. Her research interest in dental tissue mineralisation began with a PhD on Molar Incisor Hypomineralisation before commencing her academic role and expanding into cariology where she now convenes the clinical cariology component. She has participated in an international Delphi expert panel regarding when to intervene in the caries process.
Dr Oliver Pope
Dr Oliver Pope completed BDSc at UQ with first class honours. Following several years as a dental officer in the Royal Australian Navy, he completed his Doctorate of Clinical Dentistry in Endodontics at the University of Melbourne where he was awarded the inaugural Ephraim Ehrmann Prize. Dr Pope is published in the Journal of Endodontics, is the past President of the Australian Society of Endodontology and maintains full time private practice in Melbourne CBD
Dr Philip Tan
Dr Philip Tan is a registered specialist prosthodontist. He completed his undergraduate education in Melbourne before working in general practice in West Gippsland. After completing his Graduate Diploma of Clinical Dentistry program, Philip then travelled to the USA to complete his specialist training. Dr Tan works in private practice in Glen Iris and Mornington. His area of interest is digital prosthodontics. Philip lectures regularly around Australia and overseas. He has pioneered the “All At Once” implant bridge protocol.
Dr Varun Garg
Dr Varun Garg is a registered Prosthodontist. He completed his Doctor of Clinical Dentistry (Prosthodontics) from the University of Melbourne, Australia in 2017. He maintains specialist private practices in Collins Street (Prosthodontic Group) and Tullamarine (Tullamarine Prosthodontics). He enjoys all aspects of prosthodontics but has a keen interest in aesthetics, reconstructive and implant dentistry. His research paper “Effect of Aging on the Load to Failure of Molar Implant-Supported Monolithic Zirconia Crowns: A Laboratory Study” was published in The International Journal of Prosthodontics in 2022. He is actively involved in CPD/CE teaching and is founder of Peak Education (www.peak-education.com.au) through which he conducts regular hands-on programs for dentists. Dr Garg is a current treasurer for the Australian Prosthodontic Society Victoria Branch and is also a core faculty member of The Australian College of Dental Practitioners (Postgraduate Diploma – Oral Implants).
Associate Professor Warren Shnider
Associate Professor Warren Shnider is a registered specialist in Special Needs Dentistry. He is the head of the Integrated Special Needs Dentistry Unit at The Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne and is in specialist private practice in Hawthorn. He is the Academic Lead in Special Needs Dentistry at the Latrobe University and is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons as well as the College’s Registrar. Associate Professor Shnider is a past President of ADAVB.
Dr Susan Wise
Dr Susan Wise is a Specialist Periodontist in suburban Melbourne. Susan is currently the President of the RACDS, Co-Chairs the ADA DHF Victoria and is on the ADA DHF Federal Board. Susan is a Past President of the ADAVB and was the recipient of tthe Australian Dental Association Valuable Service Award in 2021 for her services to dentistry.
Dr Praveen Nathaniel
Dr Nathaniel is a specialist prosthodontist in full time private practice in Glen Waverley, Moonee Ponds and Berwick, at the Melbourne Prosthodontic Centre. He finished his masters in 1992 at the University of Melbourne. Dr Nathaniel has had a long history of teaching as well as running and presenting continuing education courses for dentists. He has lectured extensively locally, interstate and internationally with special interests in porcelains, oral rehabilitation and implant treatment.
Associate Professor Felix Sim
Associate Professor Felix Sim is an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon with subspecialty interest in head and neck oncology and reconstruction. He is a consultant surgeon at Royal Melbourne Hospital and Geelong Hospital. Felix obtained his undergraduate dental degree at the University of Sydney and medical degree at the University of Melbourne. He completed his specialist maxillofacial surgical training in 2015. Felix’s surgical expertise focuses on oral cavity tumours, jaw reconstruction, dental implantology and zygomatic implants.

Dr Meloshini Naicker
Dr Meloshini Naicker completed her Bachelor's Degree in Oral Health at the University of Durban Westville, South Africa in 1991. After graduating, she spent a short time in general private practice and was offered a position at the School of Dentistry, UDW where she lectured for 16 years. She immigrated to Australia in March 2007. She has been working in periodontics with Dr Adam Rosenberg since 2008. Melosh also demonstrates and lectures to Bachelor of Oral Health Therapy students at University of Melbourne Dental School. She graduated with her Masters of Public Health Degree from the University of Queensland in 2012. She completed her PhD at the University of Melbourne in June 2020. The title of her research was “To evaluate the effectiveness of using an endoscope with scaling and root planing as compared to scaling and root planing only using clinical, microbiological and radiographic parameters” which was published in the Journal of Periodontology (May 2021). Her interests are non-surgical periodontal surgery including perioscopy and supportive periodontal maintenance for implant supported prosthesis.
Mr Michael Levy
Michael Levy is a Principal at Tisher Liner FC Law in the corporate and commercial team. He has broad commercial experience with a keen focus on the medical and dental sectors. With a passion for working with doctors and dentists and extensive experience in commercial law, Michael works with clients to navigate the complex structures that comprise medical and dental practices. His comprehensive understanding of the legal nuances within the medical and dental sectors allows him to provide strategic counsel to healthcare providers. Michael advises on a range of medical and dental related commercial matters including establishing medical and dental practices, legal structures for the business, sales and purchases of medical and dental businesses, acquisition and sales of ownership interests, practice succession and disputes between owners of practices. Additionally he advises and drafts the following internal agreements - unitholder and shareholder agreements, partnership agreements, services agreements, Associateship Agreements and buy/sell option deeds. Outside of work Michael enjoys spending time with his family and spending time on the water.
Dr Daniel Felman
Dr Daniel Felman achieved a Bachelor of Dental Science graduating with Honours at the University of Melbourne in 2001. During several years of general practice, Dr Felman developed a keen interest in endodontics and completed his specialist training in the field in 2010 with a Doctorate of Clinical Dentistry, also at the University of Melbourne. As a registered specialist endodontist Dr Felman achieved Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (RACDS). He is also a Member of the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Endodontists (ANZAE), the American Association of Endodontists (AAE), the Australian Dental Association (ADA) and the International Association of Dental Traumatology (IADT). He also serves on the Victorian committee of the Australian Society of Endodontology (ASE Vic). Complementing his full-time private practice commitments in McKinnon and Brighton, Dr Felman is the Endodontic Specialist Consultant at Monash Health. He lectures widely, both locally and nationally, teaches endodontics at the University of Melbourne and La Trobe University, and maintains a special interest in the management of complex traumatic dental injuries.
Mr Nick Fennessy
Nick Fennessy joined the Bongiorno Group in 2008 and provides specialist advice tailored to dental and medical professionals. With a Bachelor of Business Management (majoring in Accounting and Finance), an Advanced Diploma in Financial Services, as well as many other professional qualifications, Nick is also a member of the Financial Planning Association of Australia and the Institute of Public Accountants. Nick is qualified to advise in all matters financial planning and wealth management, he is also a tax and Self-Managed Super Fund adviser. He works with his clients across business structures and setting up for a successful practice.
Dr Martin Gale
Dr Martin Gale qualified as a dentist from The University Of Newcastle, UK in 1989 and worked for several years in general dental practice there. He then completed a PhD in restorative dentistry at The University of Hong Kong in 1997. He acquired fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in 1998. After moving to The University of Melbourne, he completed a masters program in endodontics in 2000. Since then Dr Gale has been working as a specialist endodontist in Ivanhoe, Melbourne, but has also continued his research. He coded a software application to collect and then predict the infection status of pulp spaces from clinical and radiographic signs. The software uses a machine learning technique with a proprietary neural network. He continues to research the further implementation of artificial intelligence into dentistry. Dr Gale is also a committee member for the Australian Society of Endodontology Victorian Branch, and the Federal ADA's Dental Informatics and Digital Health Committee (DIDHC). More recently he has been invited onto a working group at the International Standards Organisation (ISO). This working group is developing an ISO standard for the diagnosis of two dimensional dental radiographs by artificial intelligence. Dr Gale continues to enjoy full time clinical endodontic specialist practice in Ivanhoe and also mentors final year dental students for the University of Melbourne, and new dental graduates for the ADAVB.
Emeritus Professor Laurence J Walsh AO
Emeritus Professor Laurie Walsh is a world-ranked specialist dental clinician-scientist who has been affiliated with The University of Queensland for over 40 years. In his active “retirement” he teaches postgraduate students, supervises laboratory research projects and clinical trials, consults for industry in developing new products and devices, and serves on the ADA Inc Infection Control Committee and on 4 committees of Standards Australia.
Hon Clinical Assoc Professor Rowan D Story AM, RFD
Hon Clinical Assoc Professor Rowan Rowan D Story AM, RFD is a graduate in science, dentistry and law. He retired from surgical practice in 2022. He was an Air Force Reservist for 34 years and completed 25 volunteer surgical missions to Vietnam. He teaches law and ethics to DDS students at the University of Melbourne; sits as a Sessional Member at VCAT; works in the Veterans Arts field and has recently visited Ukraine to deliver medical supplies. He has no commercial interest in CoTreat AI.
