Welcome to the ADAVB Convention and Exhibition, the premier Australian dental event for 2024.
The trade exhibition will feature Australia’s leading dental companies displaying their newest in materials, instruments and equipment.
One of the key features of the ADAVB Convention is the exhibition that runs across both days of the event, which is free for convention delegates. Presenting a comprehensive selection of products and services, the exhibition includes a who’s who of the Australian dental industry.
Free exhibition entry is also available for anyone in the dental profession. You are able to register online for exhibition registration prior to the event or on the day you visit.
Register for the exhibition only if you do not intend to attend the convention program. All convention program registrations include entry to the exhibition.
Please note: Exhibition-only entry does not include food and beverage, or access to any convention programs or social events.

Schedule
This schedule relates to the convention program. Held over two days, the convention program allows you to choose between a variety of sessions.
Day 1: Friday 2 August
Day 1 begins at 9am with the President's Welcome, concluding with the Welcome Reception from 5.05pm to 6.30pm.
Up for a late one? Celebrate in style at the President's Awards Dinner from 7pm to 10pm. Please register separately for the Awards Dinner.
Day 2: Saturday 3 August
Start Day 2 with a Breakfast Welcome at 9am and get set for a full day of courses designed for the whole practice.
Conclude a fabulous two days and kick up your heels at the ADAVB Recent Graduates and Students Cocktail Night. Register separately for the cocktail night.

Convention program keynote speakers
Dr Norman Swan
Dr Norman Swan co-hosts RN’s Health Report and the popular What’s The Rash podcast. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he co-hosted Coronacast, which had monthly downloads in the millions. Norman is also a reporter and commentator on the ABC’s 7.30, Midday and News Breakfast and has made several Four Corners. He is a past winner of the Gold Walkley - Australia’s top award for journalism and has won other Walkleys, including one with his Coronacast colleagues in 2020. He created Invisible Enemies, on pandemics and civilisation for Channel 4 UK and SBS which was subsequently broadcast in 27 countries. Norman has been awarded the medal of the Australian Academy of Science, an honorary MD from the University of Sydney and in October 2022 a Fellowship of the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences. On Australia Day 2023, Norman was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (AM). He has two best selling books, So You Think You Know What’s Good For You and So You Want To Live Younger Longer. His next book, So you Want To Know What’s Best For Your Kids, a one stop handbook for parents of children from birth to 10 years old, will be out in August. Norman trained in medicine and paediatrics in Aberdeen, London and Sydney before joining the ABC.
Dr Clarence Tam
Dr Clarence Tam is originally from Toronto, Canada, where she completed her Doctor of Dental Surgery and General Practice Residency in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Western Ontario and the University of Toronto, respectively. Clarence’s practice has a focus on restorative and cosmetic dentistry, and she strives to provide consistently exceptional care with each patient. She is well-published in both the local and international dental press, writing articles, reviewing submissions, and developing prototype products and techniques in clinical dentistry. She frequently and continually lectures internationally.
Associate Professor Khaled Ahmed
Associate Professor Khaled Ahmed is an Associate Professor of restorative dentistry and general practice at the University of Melbourne. He held various academic and leadership positions in Australia, Hong Kong, and the UK. He is also appointed by the Dental Council of New Zealand to provide bespoke educational programmes to its practitioners. With over 20 years of experience, he has published numerous peer-reviewed papers in leading journals with a clinical and research focus on digital dentistry and tooth wear
