Learning Objectives:
• Review the pharmacology, indications, contraindications, and adverse effects of commonly prescribed dental medications, including antibiotics, analgesics, and local anaesthetics.
• Update knowledge of current evidence-based prescribing practices in dentistry and principles of antimicrobial stewardship.
• Recognise clinically significant drug interactions that may affect dental treatment planning and patient safety.
• Improve understanding of the management of medically complex patients taking anticoagulants, antiplatelet agents, bisphosphonates, immunosuppressants, and other commonly encountered medications.

A/Prof. Leanne Teoh
Associate Professor Leanne Teoh is a dentist, pharmacist, researcher, and educator whose work is transforming dental prescribing practices in Australia and internationally. As the creator of MIMS Drugs4Dent® and a leader in antibiotic stewardship research, she is helping address the global challenge of antimicrobial resistance through evidence-based dentistry, education, and policy development.
