Speakers
Dr Tami Yap
Tami is the Lead, Impact and Engagement and Co-Lab Head of the Oral Medicine & Oral Cancer Group at the Melbourne Dental School. Her translative research focus is on early detection of oral cancer and oral mucosal disease. She is an Australian registered Oral Medicine Specialist, a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons and Pierre Fauchard Academy. Tami has appointments at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, the Royal Dental Hospital Melbourne and the Alfred Hospital.
Dr Asef Anwar
Dr Asef has completed specialist training in Oral Medicine and now practises privately in Geelong. His clinical interests include the care of medically complex patients and the early detection of oral potentially malignant disorders. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (FRACDS). In addition, Asef serves as an examiner for the Primary Dental Examinations in the discipline of Anatomy. He is a strong advocate for continuing professional development and encourages dentists to engage in ongoing education to support evidence-based clinical practice.
Dr Vidya Iyer
Dr Vidya is a registered Oral Medicine Specialist who provides comprehensive care in all aspects of clinical oral medicine, including diagnoses and management of Oral Diseases, Orofacial Pain and Dental Sleep Medicine. She completed her specialty training with a Doctor of Clinical Dentistry (Oral Medicine) from the University of Melbourne after practising extensively in both public and private sectors in WA for 12 years. Her training comprised of clinical roles at the Royal Dental Hospital Melbourne, Royal Melbourne Hospital, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, Alfred Hospital and Skin Health Institute. Vidya has public appointments at the Royal Dental Hospital Melbourne & Barwon Health.
