Presentation: AIRFLOW® and guided biofilm therapy – a paradigm shift in biofilm control?
Presented by webinar at the Annual General Meeting, explore indications, advantages, disadvantages, efficacy and correct application of the different approaches, instruments and materials for biofilm control and root debridement in initial as well as supportive periodontal and peri-implant therapy. The focus will be the application and use of modern AIRFLOW® devices as well as their integration in a modern guided biofilm therapy concept.

- The efficacy, advantages and disadvantages of hand instruments in non-surgical periodontal and peri-implant therapy
- The efficacy, advantages and disadvantages of power-driven instruments in non-surgical periodontal and peri-implant therapy

Professor Axel Spahr
Professor Spahr is Director of Oral Rehabilitation and Head of the Discipline Periodontics as well as Deputy Head of School at The University of Sydney Dental School. He is also Head of the Department Periodontics at the Sydney Dental Hospital.
Professor Spahr is the former Head of Periodontics at the University of Ulm in Germany, and has worked at various international universities and research facilities. He has led large externally funded research projects, and is collaborating with leading international research groups and companies in the field of periodontology, implantology and bone regeneration. He is author of numerous publications in international peer-reviewed dental and medical journals, book chapters and has presented his work at professional conferences worldwide.
Professor Spahr is a board registered periodontal specialist, working part-time in an established specialist periodontal and implant practice in Sydney, and is the past President of the Periodontal Research Group of the International Association of Dental Research (IADR). He is a Fellow of the International Team for Implantology (ITI), the International College of Dentists (ICD) and the Pierre Fauchard Academy (PFA).
