Principles of dentoalveolar extractions
This workshop is designed for early career dental professionals, to provide a core curriculum introducing the pearls, pitfalls and practicalities of exodontia.
A heavy emphasis is placed upon surgical principles because in clinical practice, one will regularly come across situations in which a clinical problem is difficult to manage, or no clear path forward is available. In these situations, it is paramount to fall back on the basic tenets of surgery in order to provide best outcomes and appropriate patient care.
You will learn how to:
- understand appropriate case selection
- develop an understanding of the benefits and pitfalls of introducing surgical extractions into dental practice
- become familiar with the basic requirements of a surgical extraction
- recognise complications and map out best management strategies.
CPD hours: 6 clinical hours
