Raising the bite: creating space for those who need it

In this workshop, you will learn principles and planning behind complex restorative dentistry, including diagnosis, treatment planning and executing these treatment modalities. 

Topics will include patient assessment, aesthetic planning, occlusion and restorative modalities. A hands-on session will cover correct record taking and use of a leaf gauge.

You will learn how to:

  • correctly diagnose complex restorative cases 
  • recognise potential pitfalls in treatment plans
  • understand basic occlusal principles
  • understand when you can change VDO and how
  • understand and be able to use a leaf gauge
  • decide on the correct modality and sequence of treatment.

Presented by Dr Thomas Giblin

CPD hours: 6 clinical hours

Includes morning and afternoon tea as well as lunch.

Dr Thomas Giblin 

Dr Thomas Giblin is a Sydney-based prosthodontist with an interest in implants, complex restorative dentistry and occlusion.

He graduated from the University of Sydney in 2004 and completed his prosthodontics training at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio in 2010.

Dr Giblin currently serves as the president elect of the ICOI and is involved with the International Academy of Gnathology in the USA.

He also teaches courses at his practice on topics such as occlusion, implants and removable prosthetics.
