Dental restrictions to end
The Victorian Government has announced an end to the current lockdown from 11.59pm this Thursday 21 October 2021, and this includes the removal of restrictions on the provision of dental care.
We have confirmed with the Chief Health Officer that dental practices can now resume the full range of dental services for patients from Friday 22 October 2021.
Dental practices will be required to have a COVIDSafe plan and maintain a density limit of one person per four square metres.
We continue to see exposure events involving dental practices. For this reason, it is important to screen patients prior to attendance at the dental clinic. Patients should be screened for possible COVID-19 symptoms, and possible attendance at any exposure sites. You should continue to defer all non-urgent dental care for patients who have symptoms consistent with COVID-19 or who have been at an exposure site.
Guidelines to manage exposures and isolation are currently being updated, and we will advise members of these changes when they become available.
