Finding emergency dental care
As routine examinations and treatments are deferred due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many dental practices are closing their doors. But what if you need urgent and emergency dental care?
Postponing all non-urgent dental services is an important measure to help limit the spread of coronavirus. However, dentistry is an essential service, and it is critically important to provide urgent and emergency dental care to avoid the likely burden on medical primary care and emergency services that would otherwise occur should access to urgent dental care cease.
Many dentists are still providing this important emergency care. To locate your nearest dentist providing urgent and emergency dental care, the ADAVB has developed a map at adavb.org/oral-health/emergency-dental-care. You can zoom and scroll around the map to find your location and your nearest dentist.
Remember to call the practice before attending to confirm that they are seeing emergency patients, and to allow them to undertake the necessary screening process.
