Checklist for getting started
There are a number of important things to get sorted before you start working like making sure you're registered. Use this helpful checklist to get set for your career in dentistry.
Indemnity insurance
One thing you don't need to worry about when you graduate is your indemnity insurance. If you're an ADAVB student member you are automatically covered by the ADAVB's Indemnity Insurance Master Policy, underwritten by Guild Insurance. Your complimentary coverage continues for up to 6 months after you graduate.

HR advice
Our ADA HR Advisory Service provides free HR advice and support. The member-only service is available 8:30am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, on 1300 232 462 or hrhotline@ada.org.au. Access a great range of new graduate HR fact sheets on the ADA website (ADA federal login required).

Complete your registration correctly to avoid delays
Find out what you need to do for graduate registration, including tips to help you avoid unnecessary delays. Watch Ahpra’s video to help you get your application right the first time. It’s particularly important that you get your photographic proof of identity documents certified correctly.
Avoid sham contracts
Can you spot the difference between an independent contractor and an employee? Independent contractors have different rights and obligations to employees. It’s important to understand the difference between them to avoid sham contracting. Access helpful resources and a video by the Fair Work Ombudsman.
