Q: If a patient has presented positive to COVID -19 or been in contact with someone with COVID-19 how long is recommended before they can be rebooked for dental treatment?
A: As per the current (22 May) CDNA National Guidelines for Public Health Units: Asymptomatic close contacts should be advised to self-quarantine at home for 14 days following the last contact with the infectious case, and to monitor their health for 14 days after the last possible contact with a confirmed or probable COVID-19 case. Hence, re-contact the patient after 14 days to check their status and re-book them after that time if they are well.
