Standards Australia have released a new standard for reprocessing reusable instruments and equipment - AS 5369:2023 Reprocessing of reusable medical and other devices in health and non-health related facilities was published in December 2023.
The ADA IC committee have revised and drafted a new edition of their IPC guidelines and supporting documents to reflect this update. Practice Plus resources will be amended accordingly once the review is completed. At this stage all IPC continuing professional development programs will discuss the implications of the new standard. However, members and staff are reminded that there is no immediate need for action.
