ADC seeking examiners
The Australian Dental Council (ADC) is seeking the support of the Victorian dental professional community to assist with examining at ADC practical examinations in 2021.
The ADC is mindful that isolated COVID-19 outbreaks around the country may affect the availability of examiners outside Victoria to attend the ADC examination centre, located in Melbourne. ADC acknowledges that 2020 has been a challenging year for Victorian dental professionals, along with overseas qualified dental practitioners who have been required to wait for almost 12 months for an opportunity to demonstrate their competence as a dentist for registration in Australia.
By increasing the examiner base in Victoria, it is hoped that exams can continue to be delivered as long as it is safe to do so.
To be eligible to be an examiner, applicants should:
- Be registered with the Dental Board of Australia
- Have at least five years clinical experience as a dental practitioner
- Have experience and/or understanding of the assessment of dental practitioners and/or students.
Examinations are regularly held between Monday and Thursdays. The ADC supports examiners by providing training, continuing professional development opportunities and remuneration.
